My team couldn't mash spuds....

Postby Fenris-77 » Tue Apr 20, 2010 1:15 am

My team has stared of super slow on the hitting side (5x5 roto) and while it's still early, I'd like to be getting some production out of my hitters. Anyway, I have Reimold and Swisher at the bottom end of my order, and I was thinking about adding at least one hot hand while I suffer through wicked slow starts from my bigger name guys. Here's who I have...

C- Ivan Rodriguez (just added him over Clement)
1B - Kendry Morales
2B - Chase Utley
SS - Jose Reyes
3B - Kevin Youkilis
OF - Josh Hamilton
OF - Adam Jones
OF - Johnny Damon
UTL - Juan Pierre
B - Nick Swisher
B - Nolan Reimold

DL - Jesus Flores (for no particular reason)

I was thinking about dumping one of Swisher or Reimold for one of the following guys... (and if I do make a move, I'm also going to deep-six Flores off the DL and add Weurtz, just 'cause)

Ty Wigginton, Travis Snider (now that he's heating up a little), Brett Gardner, or Ike Davis

So, anyone catch your eye there? Gardner's been the best off the list to date, but with Pierre and Reyes on board I don't really need more speed. Wigginton was the guy I was looking at the hardest, but I really don't know much about him, and I'm not sure he keeps an everyday job. Anyway, any and all commentary would be really helpful.

Thanks!

I'm guessing this is a standard yahoo, where managers shouldn't be too attached with bench hitters.

A double switch with Ty Wigginton and Weurtz sounds good to me. Say goodbye to Reimold and Flores.

Drop Reimold over Swisher eh? Maybe I'm just getting maudlin a little early here, but I'd feel odd dropping Reimold just now, just as he's landed an unobstructed month to hit with Pie out, and after I very patiently waited two whole weeks for that opportunity while Reimold started out colder than the north side of a vegetable tit.

Swisher hasn't been able to hit the ground with a wad of smokeless either, which is why I'm a little torn. The decision about who to drop was weighing on me as much as who to pick up though, so I'll keep thinking about filing for divorce with Reimold. Perhaps another opinion or two before I serve the papers...

The only guy who intrigues me is Snider but I'm not sure I'd be willing to drop Swisher for him at this point. I certainly wouldn't part with Reimold until you see how he performs without Pie in his face.
