Kemp '08 numbers (pre 1st round status)

Now this year with a late first round pick, I am staring at Justin Upton wondering what can happen. Check out his numbers last year.

May - 1.154

Kemp was 25 last year, Upton is only 22 this year (23 in Aug.)

...but, we all remember Griffey Jr. season in '93 when he was 23 years old, he flat took off and raked that year.



I only bring this up again because being in a league with 3 grand ups for first place, my first & second pick will make or break me, having the last pick in a 14 man. It would be very difficult to leave Wright or Longo on the board to take Upton but last year with I rode my buddy for taking Kemp at pick 35 over Youk, well let's just say I I bought him several steak dinners last summer.

I'd take one of those 3rd basemen over Upton.

3rd/4th round is a lot different from the 1st round to me. I go by the philosophy that your first pick or two should be anchors for the rest of your team, if you want to get a little frisky after that, by all means go for it.
