Nomar should be SS eligible in a few days. What do you think? Can he still hit enough to have value as a SS in deep leagues? Or is he like Brendan Harris-lite nowadays?

Grey Advises against it. But I didn't have a lot of options at the in a pretty deep league and I did it anyway. In three games so far he has been pretty good. He hit a dinger tonight but I don't expect him to hit many more. I guess it depends who you are passing over to get to him.

I am also waiting for him to get hurt too but in the meantime, I'm riding the wave.

I'd prefer just about anyone, but if your choices are limited, you have to do what you have to do.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

Before Greene was dropped today, my choices were Carrol, Loretta, Cesar Izturis, Amezaga, Cedeno, Quintanilla, Uribe... sexy huh!

But now that I have him, I might actually keep him for a while. Let someone else deal with Greene's K's. All I need is for Alexei to fill in for O-cab once more (even a partial game) and I will have my SS back-up plan. Hopefully Nomar holds it together until then.

I dropped Aviles for him. First day off my roster, Aviles gets 3 hits and homers, and I think Nomar won't be SS eligible in Yahoo for 2 more games after today.

I hadn't gotten even a single basehit out of SS since last Monday, 6 straight hitless games, so I just had to do something.

I also picked up Barmes, who promptly went 0 for 5 in his first game in my lineup. The opposing SP was the great Mark Hendrickson. Not much I could have done differently about that. He did pick up 1 hit today so at least the SS hitless streak is over.

My SS situation is a big mess. I drafted Keppinger but had to drop him cuz I had no roster spot for him when he got hurt. Now my SS options are Lugo, Barmes, and soon-to-be Nomar. Hideous. Yes. And the 2nd place team has Hardy... ouch.

My team is still barely hanging onto first place despite a paltry .265 BA, however, thanks to excellent pitching (16 team league). If Nomar can hit .280, I would be sniffing smurf glue out of joy.

So you had already made the move before you made this post and you were looking for comfort that Nomar was a good add? Not sure I would have dropped Aviles for him, but sounds like you have a similar situation with availability of quality guys on waivers in a 16 team league.

I could only dream of JJ Hardy being available on waivers.

Yeah, I basically wasn't sure who was better. Just wanted to see some opinion on Nomar.

It looks like a mistake so far as Aviles has had bak2bak big games as soon as I dropped him. I am sure someone's gonna snatch him up off WW, so I am hoping and praying Nomar is good for at least 2 weeks.
