Schaub got hurt in last night's game. I'd wait to see the extent of the injury. Even if Schaub's healthy I'd be nervous about that trade. McFadden & Colston could both have huge seasons. I'd target David Garrard in a trade. You won't have to give up much to get him & he's going to be a top 10 QB again this year.

No way would I make that trade. I significantly higher on McFadden than Grant. Grant is one of the least talented starting RBs in the NFL and may very well either lose his job entirely or face a strong RBBC by mid-season. Brandon Jackson, and especially DeShaun Wynn, are very talented backs. Wynn I especially like as a 2nd half sleeper taking over for Grant.

I like the previous suggestion of trading for Garrard. Dude was a top-10 QB last year without an NFL quality offensive line. The Jags really improved the oline this offseason with acquisition and dudes returning to health.

Comparing the value you would have to sacrifice to land Garrard or Schaub I would think Garrard would be better value.

Thanks Guys. There is a lot of pre-season chatter by "insiders" that Matt Schaub will be in the elite class by the end of the year. Usually these pre-season heros don't materialize.

How much would you trade for Garrard? I thought Flacco looks like a breakout candidate with him and Ray Rice (that's why I picked them both up).

But would you trade someone like Lee Evans or Ray Rice for Garrard? Is Garrard that much better than Flacco (looking forward, not back)?

I think Garrard will be very good, but how much better than Flacco is yet to be seen. Flacco has looked good and has a nice front line.

Schaub came back in the game after tweaking his ankle and should be fine. I am still high on him, but he is an injury risk.

I agree I wouldn't do that first trade, but I also wouldn't give up too much for Garrard. Most people don't value him very much so you could probably get him fairly cheap. Maybe Flacco and scrub for Garrard and sleeper?

The beauty of David Garrard is that you won't have to give up a player as good as Evans or Rice to get him. I'd offer someone Flacco + Steve Smith. That could get it done. But don't give up one of your good players, you won't have to.
