Thoughts on my recent complted trade

Postby Rollobobo » Mon Jun 09, 2008 5:13 pm

I gave up wonder boy Josh Hamilton, Stephen Drew, Kevin Slowey, Matt Garza, and Saltyacmachia (yes I spelled it wrong)

FOR

Hanley Ramirez, Roy Oswalt, Derek Lowe, Ryan Doumit, and Jose Guillen.

Thoughts?!?

It was hard giving up Hamilton but I think Hanley softens the blow greatly and I believe I improve on both pitchers, and even at catcher. I think Doumit could be more productive this year then Salty since he's job sharing with Laird.

It's pretty close to a push, but I do like Hanley better than Hamilton and Doumit better than Salty.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

Thanks Grey. I thought I was getting the better pitchers too, although Oswalt is under preforming and Lowe I like as a guy that I could at least get quality starts out of.

Yeah, Slowey may be a lot of nothing, but Garza I like. Oswalt obviously has the highest pedigree but he's not looked himself at all. Lowe could give you some QSs, but I like Garza better. If Oswalt can straighten himself out then your side of the trade will win in a slam dunk, just not convinced Oswalt does fix what's wrong.

My eyes glaze over when I read over trades involving more than two players from each side.

Hear hear!

No offense, but any league with 5 for 5 (6 for 6?) swaps is dangerously close to those Yahoo! public league "I'll trade you my whole team for your whole team" kind of deals.

I like it a lot.

I like Hanley/Guillen better than Wonderboy/Drew, Doumit better than Salty, and i'd do the 2 for 2 pitcher swap as well, especially with the chance of a strong second half from Oswalt.
