I am in dire need of starting pitching. There is a team that wants Utley bad. His best SP is Dempster. He has B.J. Upton as his 2B. Am I getting enough for my Utley for his BJ Upton and Dempster?? My current team is:

I think you know the answer to this. If you are in dire need of pitching, you want someone better with Utley. Go for Peavy, Santana, Webb or don't trade him.

Utley is a stud. If you want to sell high on him, Dempster and Upton is not acceptable. I wouldn't accept less than Brian Roberts, Robinson Cano, Ian Kinsler, or Upton in return. That part of the deal works, but there's no way Dempster makes up the difference between Utley and Upton. You're going to have to get more players involved, or don't do the deal. That's too much you assume on your end, because you're giving up the best player in the deal by a large margin.

You're better off trading a bench player with one of your outfielders and see if you can upgrade your OF in a 2-for-1. Use the extra roster to spot to dig deeper for starting pitchers or stream if that's your style.

Yes, you take it straight up if you have to. Doesn't hurt to try for more though by packaging Utley with someone else.

that is not nearly enough for utley. you should be getting a top 5SP and even a hitter back for utley. don't do it. if you're set on trading utley, let the rest of the league know and you'll do way better than dempster
