Rutledge

Postby CheapTrout » Mon Apr 08, 2013 9:34 pm

Rut has 0 walks and 6 K in 22 AB. These are known tendencies, and I am thinking he is considerably less valuable in OBP and K leagues than as rated in Razzball rankings.

He doesn't walk... I pointed it out here:

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.
There's more than one player with the same last name? Then spell out who you're talking about.
Thanks!

Yeah, and I read it but didn't adjust for my league settings.

As bad as his OBP is, he's still good for 15/15 with upside at a cheap price at a scarce position. I play in an OBP league but I'm not panicking yet.

PJD178,, here is my squad. I see you have Beachy DL'd, which is my next move. Gotta drop somebody though, and I am considering dropping Rut, adding and DLing Beach, then adding a MI type. My offensive K's are a concern. Saw Daniel Murphy tee off on Doc last night, realize that's not his norm but he looked different than in the past, is 28 and doesn't K much. Not considering this a huge move but wonder what you would think:

I have a tough time getting excited about Murphy, he doesn't have much pop his slugging will be weak. Rutledge has more upside, plays in a better park, and hits in a slightly better lineup. If your worried about Ks , Murphy is better than Rutledge, but overall I think Rutledge will contribute to more categories. Guys like Miggy, Trout and, Jones can compensate for his weak percentages.

I didn't do it. Will hold Rut. I do want to bring Beachy on, may have some time, something else is bound to provide the opportunity.

No problem, if you want to be daring, you could drop Rut for Beachy, DL Beachy, and then pick Rutledge up again. Now would be the time to it, before he heats up.

You could always drop someone yawnstipating like Cahill or Lohse to get him. I know Lohse has been solid the last two years but that has been in STL with their pitching coach and he still has a crappy K-rate.
