Votto for Verlander+Hosmer

Postby aclonedsheep » Wed Apr 03, 2013 11:15 am

7x7 roto (OBP+SLG, HLD+QS) 1B and CI. I have votto and pujols I have no "ace" but midlevel/low level starters with breakout potential..

Trade votto for hosmer and Verlander? Seems like a good deal but Votto is a monster in this league, strong in 6 categories. Maybe if Hosmer breaks out its a good deal, but if he just repeats 2012, I'm hosed.

Any thoughts?

Is this a 6 team league or a keeper? Id rather be getting votto. I don't know how your pit fing is but you can probably fix that without moving votto

12 teams, no keeper. It was a auction and I was going for value, not positions, so I ended up hitter heavy since people were overpaying for starters. I have some breakout candidates already that could fix my SP., so maybe I should just be patient.

I would keep Votto and start streaming P, there are so many good P on the Waiver Wire.
Votto is just too good, I would rather trade Pujols for some bat to make your batting deeper.

I also have 3 catchers in a 2 catcher league (Santana Mauer and Napoli) and RP depth to deal from (4 closers, 3 setup guys) with only 5 RP slots. Would be nice if one of them had SP eligibility. This makes me want to pickup Smyly but I have no idea if he will get holds.

Smyly is a long reliever so he will be coming in when something isn't right for a starter. He isn't a reliable option for holds

Thanks for clearing that up. Ive never played a holds league before so this is kind of new territory for me. Right now I have Strop, Sergio Santos and Doolittle. Not sure if doolittle will get holds, PECOTA was super high on him though. Melancon is out there. I already have Grilli, so thats like, holds and insurance.
