I like Ryan Braun. I REALLY like having Braun and Trout on the same team in a keeper league. Another manager really wants Braun from me. I don't really want to trade him, but I've been made an offer that makes me think that maybe I could get good value...

I was offered Andrew McCutchen, Michael Morse, Rafael Soriano, and Julio Teheran for my Ryan Braun and J.J. Putz.

I really don't typically like trading less players for more because that generally means you're losing out on quality for quantity, but I see Soriano as better than Putz.

McCutchen is ranked close to Braun and he had a great season, but is he really reliable enough to trade Braun away? Michael Morse is really solid when healthy and is having a monster spring, but he's had several injury concerns in the past. Teheran could be a nice breakout pitcher if his stuff looks as good in the regular season as it does right now.

Grey's rankings have McCutchen right behind Braun. Are McCutchen and Morse worth Braun? McCutchen could put up similar numbers to Braun and if healthy Morse could hit 25-30 HR's. I think Soriano/Teheran are without a doubt worth Putz and dropping someone. Also, I have Hanley and Lawrie starting the season on the DL so I wouldn't be opposed to having an extra bat.

So my question is simple... Do I take this trade, try to alter it slightly, or just reject it and stay pat with former MVP Braun?

Short answer there are trade where I would deal Braun but this isn't one of them.

Agree with the above. I would move him, and McCutchen is a nice start, but I would need another upper echelon guy. If you want one of the best in the game, you better be willing to pay a heafty price.

ESPN 10 team H2H each category. Before you say anything about it, I know I don't have any SP. This strategy has brought me to the championship game 4 of the last 5 years.

Morse wouldn't really make you line up. Braun is a generational player

I'm a believer in Morse, but when Hanley and Lawrie are back, yeah, my lineup will be pretty full. The only reason this is even a little tempting is because I expect Morse to hit 25+ HRs and hit at least .280, but Braun's consistency/reliability is pretty tough to beat.

I've considered seeing what sort of SS I could obtain for Lawrie and Morse, but there aren't really any elite SS options anymore and I think Aybar will at least give me runs and steals until Hanley returns if nothing else.

I think the main issue is that if and when everyone is healthy, your lineup would be weaker AFTER the trade. I see this as a short term benefit thing, and one that you probably don't need. Cutch is great, but he needs to give you a more significant upgrade to make it worth it. You should get two must starts in return.

It's not the worst offer I've seen for Braun but still is too much of a quality for quantity deal for me. Cutch is great but not as consistent as Braun, Soriano for Putz is an upgrade but that and Moorse don't equal the difference between Braun and Cutch.

Help with mine if you have time.

Yeah, sounds like they want you to bite on the upside of Teheran. I admit that I had to think a little bit when I saw that trade offer, but I grudgingly agree with the above posters.

Seeing Morse hit two Hrs game one and having Lawrie out longer than expected makes this sting a bit, but yeah long term I'm likely better off without the deal.
If Morse had 1B eligibility I'd probably pursue a deal for him straight up. I still have a gut feeling that he's going to continue this HR barrage.
