Just left you some notes to consider...based value on current year and how I rank them overall...for example...Gallardo is a very good pitcher, but...I would not take him 11th overall if you put a gut to my head...I put some notes in for anyone with more long-term value

Player (round/overall position)
Yovani Gallardo (1/11) Poor value KEEPER but lousy value
Aramis Ramirez (3/35) Poor value KEEPER but lousy value
Billy Butler (5/59) Good value KEEPER
Huston Street (7/83) Poor value (for a closer...solid closer otherwise in a good ballpark) KEEPER but lousy value and RP
Rafael Betancourt (8/86) Poor value (for a closer...very competent closer in a lousy ballpark)
Jeremy Hellickson (9/107) - Ok value ...decent pitcher...possible keeper...better long term value
Francisco Rodriguez (10/110) (stay away)
Sergio Romo (11/131) Good value
Chris Sale (12/134) Really, really great value KEEPER
Norichika Aoki (13/155) Good value - he should be available in later rounds of draft
Allen Craig (13/155) Really, really great value KEEPER
Austin Jackson (13/155) Great value KEEPER
Ryan Cook (13/155) - Decent value
Paul Maholm (13/155) Nothing special
Kris Medlen (13/155) - Really great value
Matt Thornton (13/155) - nothing special
Travis Wood (13/155) - nothing special
Asdrubal Cabrera (15/179) - Good value - KEEPER
David Ortiz (16/182) - Great value...for the position...huge injury concerns...I think you need to keep him as he'll be scooped up
Dexter Fowler (17/203) - Good value - keeper for the value
Luke Gregerson (18/206) - Solid value
Jake Peavy (20/230) - Great value
Ryan Doumit (23/275) - Good value - there are other catchers available
Hisashi Iwakuma (23/275) - Good value

So, if I'm reading you right, you're saying keep...

Butler at 59
Sale at 134
Craig or Jackson at 155, or both at 134 and 155 (sliding one of these or Sale up to 131)
Asdrubal at 179

And 'maybe' on...

Hellickson at 107
Romo at 131
Medlen at 155
Papi at 182
Fowler at 203
Gregerson at 206
Peavy at 230
Doumit at 275
Iwakuma at 275

(Yeah... And I had no intention of keeping Gallardo in the first or Aramis in the second. Just pasted in my whole list.)

1. 11 - Best value available (now and forever...lol)
2. 14 - I would pick up Tulowitzki here if he's undervalued...can trade him or Asdrubal later
3. 35 Take an Edwin Encarnacion here (likely someone else's keeper already)
4. 38 - If Jered Weaver isn't taken, scoop him up
5. Butler at 59 (use as 1B) KEEPER!
6. 62 Take a Matt Holliday here if available
7. 83 Take a Ben Zobrist here if available or Pablo Sandoval here
8. 86 Take an Aramis Ramirez here if available or Shin Soo Choo....Gallardo?
9. 107 Take an Aaron Hill or Anibal Sanchez...I would take Anibal here if your positional players are set (other than catcher)...you might get him at 158 though unlikely...his owner would be smart to have kept him
10. Sale at 110 (SP) KEEPER! (I considered suggesting Romo too but instead of sliding Sale further down, I'd use that value pick to improve my roster and figure out the RP thingy later)
11. Jackson 131 (CF) KEEPER!
12. Craig 134 (use as LF or RF) KEEPER!
13. Medlen at 155 (SP) KEEPER!
14. 158 - Don't forget about David Freese, Paul Konerko, Ricky Weeks, Howie Kendrick, Ike Davis though they shouldn't be available any longer...I would take Salvador Perez here over everyone...assuming you have a 1B, 2B, 3B locked up already
15. Asdrubal at 179 (SS) KEEPER! (if Tulowitzki is available early on pick him up)
16. Papi at 182 (UTIL)
17. Fowler at 203 (CF) (upside there...as well as downside)
18. 206 - Sergio Romo, Joel Hanrahan might be undervalued
19. 227 - Torii Hunter, Willin Rosario, Josh Reddick, should be off the board already
20 Peavy at 230 (SP) (some risk but high reward)
21. 251
22. 254
23. 275
24. 278
25. 299

There should be a decent catcher left for your last pick:

Let us know who is available in a future post perhaps...good luck

Good stuff. Thanks for all of that.

I'm honestly mulling over keeping Romo. I know Grey frowns on going RP before the 13th round, let alone as early as the 9th (107 overall), but...

Roster-wise, I tend to fill up my P slots with RPs and stream starters off of my bench to try to hammer the counting stats, generally maxing out at 2 bench batters, rarely 3.

So I'm basically looking for 11 batters (C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, LF, CF, RF, Util, BNx2), 7-8 SP and 6-7 RP.

If I'm keeping Butler (1B), Asdrubal (SS), Craig (LF or RF), Jackson (CF), Papi (Util/1B) and Fowler (CF/BN) and then punting C until the end (and/or maybe keeping Doumit in the 23rd), that leaves me with 4 offensive spots left to fill, 5 if I want/can get a better SS.

With picks in rounds 1-4 and 6-8, I'd be able to fill 2B, 3B, RF (or LF) and another bench batter, plus three SP (or Tulo + two SP) ahead of round 9. I could see that putting me in the market for an RP at that point anyways. 107 is still a bit of a reach for Romo, but I've fallen in love with the guy's WHIP over the years. As well as his beard.

Adding that... Looking back at last year's draft, Papelbon, Rivera, Storen, Hanrahan, Putz, Bailey, Valverde, Wilson, Santos, Soria, Marmol, Street, Bell and Madson were all gone by the end of the 9th round (Valverde through Madson alone getting swept up in closer run in the 9th).

After that, Betancourt, Motte, Feliz, Guerra, Axford, Jansen, Perez, Rodriguez, Kimbrel, Romo and Adams were all gone ahead of the 14th (which would represent my next available pick this year).

I don't know what I'm doing besides talking myself into this, but there you have it.

And how many of those closers fell by the wayside? ;o) Kimbrel was taken in the 14th last year? interesting

Also, I wouldn't pick up another SS unless it's a stud with Asdrubal...he'll give you good value.

Looking through your list and analyzing gave me a reason to look at my own undervalued/sleeper guys in my own league too.

Once all of your owners put a stamp on their keepers let us know in Razz town.

Cheers!

I included keepers on that list. He was kept in the 12th.

Yeah... I more or less meant Tulo. But I highly doubt he falls to the second in this league.
