Carl Crawford

I think it was 2011 that he went first overall in many drafts. Certainly top 5 that year, right? Or am I not recalling correctly?

So he went to the Sawx, underperformed horribly, turned out he was hurt, tried to play through it, got worse, spent the better part of a year in denial, came back for a short time last year, was still hurt, and finally gave up the ghost, went to the DL and had the surgery.

This year's rankings are pretty typical: he's the #42 OF (though Grey says he could end up being a #1 OF).

I was curious to see where last year's #42 landed overall. It was Swisher, and he was ranked #140-something overall. 14th round.

Assuming Crawford falls to the 14th this year, isn't his upside a steal? I mean, he'll turn 32 August, so it's not like he's in the sunset of his career. He's got some great bats behind him (not sure how that'll help/hurt re: speed).

I dunno. If he's healthy and looks good in the spring, I'm thinking he''s worth at least 9th or 10th round pick on the chance that he returns 2nd or 3rd round value.

Assuming he falls there he is a steal... He probably won't fall there... Also, keep in mind this isn't the 15-20 HR and 40-50 steal guy anymore... This is 15 HRs, hopefully 30+ steals...

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

My best guess is he'll end up going somewhere in rounds 9-12 in most 12 team mixed. Near Stubbs, Melky, Ethier, Pagan, Victorino and Reddick. Guys with some potential but a lot of question marks around them including age, injury and skill set. He'll be artificially inflated or deflated depending on his spring numbers and the news out of camp. I am somewhat interested in him if he's healthy and hitting at the top of the Dodgers line up. I coulc see me drafting him somewhere in the range I just mentioned, particularly if I was light on speed.
