In an AL-Only Auction league (a $ 260 salary cap, 2 C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, MI, CI, 5 OF, DH / 9 P) . Over the next two weeks, I need to trim my roster down to 7 keepers.
S. Perez $ 2* E. Hosmer $ 8* B. Lawrie $ 8 S. Drew $ 4 M. Trout $ 8 D. Jennings $ 8* D. Viciedo $ 8* L. Cain $ 7* N. McLouth $ 2 C. Tillman $ 8 E. Ramirez $ 2 A. Reed $ 3* J. McGee $ 1
I have the option to resign the * players, all going into the final year of their contracts, at $ 5 per extra year. The remaining players would not need to be resigned until next year. Also, I also have Romine (NYY), Olt (TEX), Green (OAK), Hicks (MIN), Myers (TB), and Archer (TB) in the minors whom will be packaged in a trade and/or kept, and will not count against the 7.
I've been leaning towards keeping Perez (+1), Hosmer (+2), Lawrie, Drew, Trout, Cain (+1), and Reed (+1), and I would like to trade any remaing players to upgrade a keeper and/or upgrade a minor league draft pick. I'm wondering who should be untouchable (Lawrie? Trout? Myers?) and who may be hyped/overvalued and could be shopped.
Any advice?
