Our pitchers still score more points than our bats typically. And that's both the elite players and the average ones. Adding points for quality starts and earning a point for each out (opposed to 1 point per inning) counters the potential negative points for a loss.
I'm not a big fan of counting wins and losses but baseball is somewhat of a game of luck so it seems appropriate. We've tweaked our points system each year and this system has worked out pretty well to date.
