Moving Gonzo for Marcum

Postby p0rk burn » Fri Jun 13, 2008 11:25 am

Before you guys tell me I'm getting ripped off for selling Gonzo for Marcum you need to consider a few things.

1) I have Teix
2) I have Atkins
3) I have C.Guile
4) My rotation is the one thing keeping me from utter dominance.

I'll still have enough talent holding down the corners (throw in Yunel and I'm gold) plus I'm helping my staff out. Its not the Gonzo for Johan some people are claiming to get, but you take what you can get out there. This will be the 2nd trade in the league this season, people just don't deal.

I'm expecting Gonzo to cool off because thats what he does and also because he currently accounts for 24% of the Padres runs produced this season (yeah, I know, you saw that note too, get off my back and stop interrupting). Marcum is just as likely - maybe even more so - to cool off down the stretch but its a risk I'm willing to take.

This will give me a rotation of CC, Bills, Shields, Hudson, Harang (man I hope he turns things around), Marcum, and Wellemeyer (who I picked up yesterday and might find himself out of a job with this trade).

And no, this isn't a 6 person league. Thanks for asking.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

I need Marcum more than I need Gonzo on the bench.

Its h2h and my one weakness against the (few) other decent teams is pitching.

Yeah I guess you could do that, although it would be nice if he would take Carlos Guillen instead

Im actually more attached to Guillen. He's my SS and provides better stats than Yunel. Gonzo was just a little much icing on my cake.
