Help with 2 Choices: 1. Keeper and 2. First overall pick

Postby dsciarrillo » Sat Nov 10, 2012 10:34 am

My main league is a 10 team, keeper, h2h league where the categories used are:
Hitting = TB, RBI, R, SB, OBP and Pitching = Ws, Ks, QS, ERA, and WHIP

We may keep 1 hitter and 1 sp per year. My personal top choices this year (for hitters) are: Starlin Castro, Jay Bruce, Allen Craig.

I also have first pick of the 2013 draft. I am debating between Miguel Cabrera and Ryan Braun (Trout will be someone's keeper so he isn't an option here.)

Based off of the league settings above...Which direction would you all suggest I go in with these two choices?
(I am personally stuck between Castro and Bruce...and I realize the first overall pick will hurt me either way...obviously 2 studs there...just a matter of preference I guess)

Thanks for the help! Looking forward to what a lot of people have to say.

Keep Castro, take Miggy...

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

Miggy just hit for the Triple Crown, you need reasons? Castro is a top 5 SS...Bruce is an outfielder that gets insanely hot and cold...Craig can't stay healthy....

Any other hitters you can keep? Must be a limit on how many years you can keep players.

And I agree Miggy. Just don't like the idea of Castro as the basis of your offense. I mean he is solid everywhere and doesn't hurt you, but in H2h, I prefer to set up a consistent advantage in a few cats. Bruce is too streaky for H2h.
