Keeper Smurfs

Who to start, who to bench. Grab that WW guy? Low priced rookie or high priced stud?

Keeper Smurfs

I am keeping Stanton for sure, but league rule dictates that I must keep either 4 or 5 more. What do you think?

(16 team league, counts HLDs and OBP in addition to the standard 5x5)

My choices are:

Headley
Lawrie
BJ Upton
Jennings
Latos
Sale
Allen Craig

Lawrie, Upton, Sale, Stanton, Craig... Tough choices though, and could see different ways to go...

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

So you think Sale's arm will hold up? I am leaning Latos or no pitchers now.

Yeah, that was one of my question marks... Could see going with Headley who looks like he's coming into his own and Jennings is always attractive... Really tough set of guys you have...

I forgot about Goldschmidt too. Would you put him in the keeper group? You think he has 40 homer ceiling right?

PS, I actually am getting strong pitching (ERA<2 so far) but the team immediately in front of me got 7 shutout innings from Gonzalez (BAL)... just like Santiago last night for another team that was immediately in front of me at the time. Unreal.

Meanwhile his pitching is gaining pts even though he is out of innings. The roto gods are on his side this yr.

Sorry to harp on my fantasy team's situation but need to vent one last time.

Entered today 2 pts behind and needed miraculous starting pitching. I went with Hefner, T Wood, L Mendoza, and G Floyd. All 4 pitched great. I actually could have gained enough in ERA to win by half a pt but I made the ill-fated decision to start Jim Henderson instead of Jansen at one of the RP slots. (I didn't think they'd pitch Jansen 3 days in a row with nothing on the line)

Despite all the bad breaks I still had a chance to win and almost got a miracle and a patented Smurf decision screwed my team over.

Maybe even worse, one of the other teams that could have helped me in ERA left his SPs on the bench and wasted 9 shutout innings. Cost me a pt in the standings.

What a crazy final wk!

Definitely the closest race and most exciting finish I've been involved in.

If the LAD didn't score 3 in the bottom of the 8th and League had gotten a save, I would have tied too. Just too many things went wrong.

Definitely a race I won't ever forget.
