188 Starts

Postby VinWins » Thu Aug 02, 2012 4:18 am

Vas Deferans (Sphinctory Staff Inflection -- http://games.espn.go.com/flb/leagueoffice?leagueId=28485&seasonId=2012) became the 3rd team to reach the 180 Games Started limit on Sunday, using 9 starters to jump from 179 to 188 starts (all starts count on the day you reach the limit.)

Scott Feldman, Lucas Harrell, and Wei-Yin Chen recorded victories, striking out 22 with an ERA of 0.93 and 1.14 WHIP.

On the other hand, Mark Rogers, Travis Blackley, Joe Saunders, Clayton Richard, Will Smith, and Jonathan Sanchez combined for a 5.94 ERA and 1.53 WHIP, making the totals for the day:

52.2 IP/3 Wins/45 K/4.10/1.39.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

A second team has used a 9-start day to reach the maximum 188 starts. MattTruss223 (Rube Waddell's Shiny Objects - Magnificent Mustachioed Men), a top 10 overall team, finished his starts September 8th with a disapppointing day of 2 wins and 20 strikeouts in 38.2 innings with an ERA of 6.75 and 1.73 WHIP. To make it worse, Drew Storen, on his bench, picked up a win.

Kris Medlen (Win/3 K/3.00/1.00) and Cole DeVries (Win/2 K/0.00/0.67) put up decent numbers, but that is where the good news ended. Hisashi Iwakuma, who had given up 4 runs in his last 33 innings, allowed 4 in just 3.2 innings vs Oakland. Dice-K gave up 5 in 1.1 IP, while Jeremy Hefner lasted twice as long, giving up 5 in 2,2 innings. James McDonald (3 ER/5.2 IP), Zach McAllister (2 ER/3 IP), Jake Westbrook (3 ER/5 IP), and Bud Norris (5 ER/5.1 IP) completed the disastrous night.

Simply Fred (The Fredsies - ECFBL) finished with 187 starts and had a bit more success with his final starts on September 3, recording 3 wins and 44 strikeouts with an ERA of 5.32 and 1.50 WHIP.

Collin McHugh, NYM SP 4.0 IP/2 K/9.00/1.50
Tommy Milone, Oak SP 3.0 IP/1 K/15.00/3.33
Ricky Nolasco, Mia SP 7.0 IP/Win/4 K/1.29/1.29
J.A. Happ*, Tor SP 5.0 IP/9 K/5.40/1.80
Joe Kelly, StL SP 6.2 IP/Win/4 K/2.70/1.05
Joe Blanton, LAD SP 6.2 IP/6 K/4.05/1.35
Jeff Locke, Pit SP 5.0 IP/6 K/9.00/1.60
Patrick Corbin, Ari SP, RP 5.0 IP/6 K/7.20/1.40
Hector Santiago, CWS 5.0 IP/Win/6 K/ 1.80/1.20

Not too bad... Really only one bad start, but no real excellent ones either...

Big Cuntry (Ones are GOOD right?) finished with 188 starts, using 9 Friday.

Concussed Canadian (RAZZBALL ROTO LEAGUE): I used 9 starts yesterday to reach 188. Carlos Villanueva wrecked things, but as a St Louis fan, I'm more upset Salas cost Carpenter a win.

Scott Pianowski (Karma Police - RCL Experts) used 9 starters Tuesday to reach the 188 total. Other than the 1.45 WHIP, a pretty good outcome. Another win or 2 would have helped.
