Todd Helton 2009

Postby Tony B. » Wed Apr 01, 2009 6:37 am

Am I pretty dumb to think Helton can post:

.305 AVG .875 OPS 82 Runs 83 RBI's 17 HR's 91 BB's ???

I'm pretty tempted right now to drop Butler and pick up Helton as my backup 1B to D. Lee and even slot in at one of my 2 UTL slots during the week.

thats a top of the line expectation and obtainable if,i repeat IF he were to play 162 games,,witch i doubt will happen, your filling a backup slot so it might not matter, obviously you got that mancrush for helton,i just think his big years of numbers and games played are behind him

No mancrush, just paying attention to his spring thus far and the fact that he has shown no signs of his back injury giving him any trouble. We all know he can hit .300 and provide an on base % of .400 +. I'm not looking for extreme HR power, I'm looking for a consistent player, and when he is healthy, he fits that mold, especially in my league which uses OPS, AVG, and BB's as some of our categories.

I would say playing at least 135-145 is attainable for the ToddFather this season.

then go get him,,stats and predictions are just that, each one of us gets a gut feeling on certian players, and part of the fun here is to get who you want and or like,

That's my dilemma, comparing him with Billy Butler, would you make that move or would you stick?

I wonder if Helton can outproduce Kotchman, or even CoJack. Am I crazy?
