2010 Smurfs roster

Postby papasmurf » Thu Mar 25, 2010 1:48 pm

6x6 15 team keeper league (OBP and HLD being the extra categories). I am going for 3-peat this year after eeking out back to back championships. This is my post draft roster, sure to change a lot throughout the season, but do you think it’s at least top third with some tweaking over the season?

Starters: Napoli, Morales, Roberts, Chipper, Everth Cabrera, Abreu, Mclouth, Pence, Carlos Pena (DH)

Backups: Cust, Cojax, Orlando Cabrera, Edwin Encarnacion, Getz

SPs: Vazquez, Hamels, Oswalt, Dempster, J Sanchez

RPs: Valverde, Nunez, Rauch, Madson, Feliciano, Parnell (I picked him with my last pick cuz he has SP eligibility, which allows me to start an extra RP, for HLDs)

Yeah, I think it's a top third team with tweaking, giving itself a chance for glory again. I like your pitching staff a bit better than your hitting. Roberts, Chipper, Pena... Missed time last year or will this year. Hopefully in a 15 team league that doesn't hurt you too much.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

I didn’t realize Encarnacion had wrist surgery until I drafted him. With these things it’s tricky and it’s likely he’ll get off to a bad start, so I am thinking of punting him right away for Rolen or Sean Rodriguez right away when waivers become available in a few days.

What do ya think? Thanks

I had an unbelievable year with injuries last year. My entire opening day lineup was essentially gone by the end of the season. I had two guys left and both were on the DL. So hopefully I am due for a lucky year with injuries.

Yeah, a punt makes sense.

Just punted Encarnacion and Parnell (rumored to start in AAA) for Rodriguez and Rolen.

With Chipper and Rolen, I have two superstars 3b! if I had a hot tub time machine…

To pay homage to Weird Al's Amish Paradise:

As I walk through the diamond where I manage my team, I take a look at my smurfs and realize they make me steam. But that's just sucky for a smurf like me, you know I hate crap things like them injuries.

10 days into the season, my team's hitting just over .200 with an OBP under .300.

I am not even sure if Mclouth and Pence have 5 hits between'em. Napoli rides the pine and Roberts and Chipper are made of paper.

Venable's been a godsend so far... dunno how long he keeps this up. Just punted Rolen and picked up Gomes to replace Pence for at least one game vs. Duke.
