Struggling team, need a fresh eye

Look at my kick ass team! Look at my sorry ass team! Could someone look at my team and tell me what they think is right/wrong?

Struggling team, need a fresh eye

Postby Dwright5 » Mon Apr 12, 2010 9:47 am

Hey guys, my team is struggling, mostly due to my closers murdering my era/whip in my roto league. I'm a patient guy and I don't like to make rash moves. But any suggestions out there?

I feel my team doesn't have enough speed. I'm thinking of trying for Andrus or Escobar to replace Hardy at MI. I have too many similar guys like Ibanez, Konerko, and Hardy. Guys that can get decent average, 20-30 HR, and 80-100 RBI, but no SB. My thinking is to try to get rid of one to get a SB guy, especially when I have Berkman coming off the DL sometime this month.

My team is in the sig. Any thoughts?

Makes sense to go after Andrus or Escobar, in that order.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

Yeah, I don't love JJ Hardy, but I got him in the last round. I'm talking to the Escobar owner (and the bastard says he likes Holliday, Konerko, and Ethier...uh...not in a trade for Escobar!)

Grey, any other suggestions? Aside from trying to get a speedy MI, should I leave everything else as pat?

I would love to package Ibanez/Hardy for Escobar and another player so I can open up a spot for Lance Berkman once he returns. I like to have a bench full of pitchers...I hate having position players on the bench.

Your team looks okay for now... Depends who you get for Escobar in that Ibanez/Hardy trade.

The Escobar team is underwhelming. Not sure who I would want that 2nd player to be:

McCann, Dunn, A. Hill, Beltre, Jeter, Escobar, Pena, J. Hamilton, Morgan, BJ Upton, Blanks, McCutchen

Bell, Harden, Jenks, Ubaldo, Kershaw, Kuroda, Lincecum, K-Rod, Wandy Rodriguez

Gardner, Phil Hughes, Edwin Jackson

I also floated out to the Andrus owner a trade: Danks/Andrus for Ibanez/Hardy. Not sure if he'll go for that. He said he probably won't do it, but will look at it closer when he gets home from work.
