Grey / rb community,
please rate my team - 12 teams 5x5, standard categories...no minimum innings.
I didn't draft any SPs. I drafted only closers...to win saves, era and whip. If I get three 12s and two 1s in the pitching categories that will average out to 7.6 pnts per pitching category.
What do you think of my team / strategy?
Keepers were J Upton, Bailey, Kinsler, Granderson
C - McCann 1B - Morneau 2B - Kinsler 3B - Ian Stewart SS - Rollins OF - J Upton OF - Coghlan OF - Ludwick UTIL - Granderson UTIL - Maggs/Vladdy BN - Maggs/Vladdy BN - Freese BN - Adam LaRoche BN - Huff BN - Hafner BN - Clement BN - Pedro Alvarez
SP - Joba RP - Soria RP - Heath Bell RP - Bailey P - Wagner P - Hoffman BN - Ziegler
plan is to slide stewart to 2B and play freese at 3b until kinsler comes back

Not too big on punting categories. You will definitely win Saves but what if you end up with this years Brad Lidge? It is a very tempting theory to try but going for balance is tried and true. The good news is people in your league will need Closers so you can use them to trade for Starters. The one guy you should go after really aggressively is Ricky Nolasco. He has enormous upside and could probably be had for Joakim Soria straight up.
As an aside, who was your first round pick?

agree, my closers are a risky play...but i purposely picked guys with sup 1.15 whip profiles. lidge's whip even in his stellar season 2 years ago was not great.
it was an auction draft. i paid 30 ish for both rollins and kinsler. upton at his keeper price of 6 was a steal.
