No brainer, I'd go with Nolasco....He is a huge rebound candidate from last year and he is having a stellar spring. He will get you strikeouts and hopefully more wins than last year.

Kershaw is a phenom but he rarely gets out of the six innning, he throws alot of balls and is still a year or two away from being an elite fantasy option.

I'm not saying Nolasco is going to be top 10 but he definitely could be. I love Nalasco for 2010

Really? A no-brainer? I don't agree. I rolled Nolasco out there in the second half last year and got alot of 5/6 run outings...I like him, don't get me wrong...but I think Kershaw is going to be better this year. I think he will be a 3rd or 4th rounder (ala Wainwright, Grienke) next year.
Grey...what about you?

I think it depends on where you can get them in relation to the draft. In a vaccum I'd pick Kershaw, just b/c with an unbalnaced sched, he gets a lot of Giants and Pads games. Nolasco has the Nats, but he also has to face the Phils, Braves and even a decent (hitting) Mets team. One bad day against the Phils could be 8 runs in 2.2 innings....

I just made this trade myself. I think kershaws raw talent is better but being a Yankee fan and knowing how Joe torre handles young wild pitchers. I traded kershaw for nolasco. Kershaw is way too wild to ever get any significat win totals while torre is the manager. Doesn't matter what the score is but if kershaw walks 2/3 batters in the middle innings, torre will pull him. This will limit win totals and even k's. Now ask me in two yrs and under a more patient pitchers manager, I'd have kept kershaw.

Also, even though nolasco's era soared to 5 last yr, his whip was still 1.25 and his k's were around 200 so I expect his era to at least level off to the upper 3's and win 12-16 again.

Kershaw has the slight advantage for a roto league with his better ratios, but he will have his blow-ups being the youngster he still is. I have him on my team and I won't complain if he puts up even 85% of last-years sub-3 ERA and league-leading H/9. Nolasco will have his blow-ups too, but he's also a KperIP guy and will pitch deeper into games. I'd take him over Kershaw in H2H.

If we're talking trade and not draft, I'd take Kershaw. I think his ceiling is much higher as he matures and hopefully becomes a more efficient pitcher. His K potential is through the roof and he had the lowest BAA last season. The day someone can teach him to be more efficient on the mound even a little bit this kid becomes a Top 10 pitcher IMO.

This is not discounting Nolasco who I think rebounds well from last year but I don't see his potential and ceiling being as high.
