Hola amigos y fantasy freakos - first time poster, long time reader... Wanna get in el razz mix, so here goes...
LEAGUE / CATEGORIES: 14 team, highly competitive Head 2 Head League.
6 * 6 categories: HR, Runs, Avg, Rbis, SB, Total Bases + Wins, ERA, WHIP, Ks, Holds and Saves.
I had 14th pick... we roster 29 players. Start 12 offensive players~ C,1B,2B,3B,SS,IF(flex),3 OF,3 UTIL(flex) + 12 pitchers~ 4 SP,2 RP,6 P(flex)
CAB 2010 SQUAD: 1. (14) David Wright 3B 2. (15) Troy Tulowitzki SS 3. (42) Robinson Canó 2B 4. (43) Curtis Granderson OF 5. (70) Carlos Peña 1B 6. (71) Ubaldo Jiménez SP 7. (98) Carlos Quentin OF 8. (99) Ricky Nolasco SP 9. (126) Ian Stewart 2B,3B 10. (127) Miguel Montero C 11. (154) Roy Oswalt SP 12. (155) Vladimir Guerrero Util 13. (182) Nolan Reimold OF 14. (183) Tim Hudson SP 15. (210) Chad Qualls RP 16. (211) Octavio Dotel RP 17. (238) Mike Adams RP 18. (239) Chris Pérez RP 19. (266) Jon Rauch RP 20. (267) Conor Jackson 1B,OF 21. (294) Alcides Escobar SS 22. (295) Lastings Milledge OF 23. (322) Nick Masset RP 24. (323) Madison Bumgarner P 25. (350) Matt LaPorta 1B,OF 26. (351) Matt Lindstrom RP 27. (378) Jason Hammel SP 28. (379) Justin Masterson SP,RP 29. (406) John Maine SP,RP
STRATEGY: Went into the draft thinking I was going to draft 5 or 6 offensive players before grabbing a SP, unless one the big 5 SP fell to me in the 4th/5th. Wanted a 1B early, but they all were snagged by the time it hit me at 14/15 so I went Wright and Tulo- cause I think both their respective positions are thin. You'll notice I never tend to reach for RP and usually opt to draft serviceable closers at end part of my drafts. I usually draft SP in the NL, (West preferably) and most of my bats tend to side to AL.
MY DRAFT ANALYSIS: I think Im light in steals, but I tend to never chase little turkeys that bat .285 and steal 30 bags, just not my kind of player (sans Escobar). In addition, I think I need 1 more SP to emerge or nab off the wire - I like 5 solid SP in this format -- and Im not sure Hammel, Masterson or Maine will become that guy...FA Pool is very thin.
Please let me know your thoughts on my little stuffed burritos and I'll absolutely give you my take on your squads...
Gracias, CAB
