Draft Evaluation plus a question

Postby BigAhnold » Sat Oct 27, 2012 10:57 am

Weird draft. Other owners were going heavy PG and PF the whole way. I ended up with Lebron and Melo (and Jeff Green) as my only PF qualifieds, and with a bunch of centers.

12 team, roto, 9 categories, Yahoo. 82 games per position (PG, SG, G, PF, SF, F, C, C, UT, UT).

First pick overall.

(1) Lebron James (PF, SF)
(24) Brandon Jennings (PG)
(25) Carmelo Anthony (PF, SF)
(48) Roy Hibbert (C)
(49) Monta Ellis (PG, SG)
(72) Brook Lopez (C)
(73) Klay Thompson (SF, SG)
(96) Damian Lillard (PG)
(97) JaVale McGee (C)
(120) Kawhi Leonard (SF, SG)
(121) Nikola Pekovic (C)
(144) Rodney Stuckey (PG, SG)
(145) Jeff Green (PF, SF)

Questions:

(1) How does this look? I am ecstatic, but my rose colored glasses seem to be working on overdrive. Love getting Carmelo @ 25, Ellis @ 49, Klay Thompson @ 73, and Kawhi and Pekovic @ 120 and 121.

(2) The Jeff Green pick had me debating. Best available beyond him are Demar DeRozan, Jae Crowder, Biyombo (PF), Derrick Williams (PF), Tristan Thompson (PF), Mullens (PF), Drew Gooden (PF), Chandler Parsons (PF), and Valanciunas, but I would really prefer someone who qualifies at PF in case of any problems @ PF. Would you try for any of these (I am 12th in waiver priority) or keep Green and see what happens with him?

All help appreciated -

I like your first 8. I'm not in love with JaVale, but I won't kill anyone for taking him. I do like Pekovic.

As for dropping anyone, I tend to tell people to sit with your team and let it ride for a couple of weeks before dropping guys. Unless there is a real gem on waivers based on some recent event, there's no need to start tweaking a team that hasn't started yet.
I like sports with balls in them.
