Grey what are your projections on this dude? Last two years when he's on the field he seems unhittable and a K machine. I know Detroit has an issue with the closer role any chance he's got the upper hand? Benoit I heard can't go back to back days or some BS. Rondon is wild as shit. If he doesn't wind up with the closer role how do you see him as a holds guy?

I like him as a sleeper for saves... He's a decent late round gamble... He's terrific for Ks, if nothing else... Benoit can't go on back-to-back days but Al Alburquerque can't stay healthy, so it's six of one, half dozen of another on that...

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is. Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions. Is your league H2H? Roto? I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from. If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters. I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

I saw 4 tigers games last week. Rondon will get saves with Benoit. Both looked great. Al will only do set up in 7 or 8. They were pitching every lefty in the farm system looking for loogie depth behind coke. Didn't see anything either...

Rondon had a rough outing today. Is it true he may not make the team? Closer by committee?

And he was perfect yesterday. Committee yes. Minors no. I saw dombrowski's grin when he gave Bruce minor player of the year.

I've got both Alburquerque and Benoit on my roster just in case. It's really tough for rooks to enter the season as closer. Not saying it can;t happen, but managers are usually a bit uneasy about the prospect of it.

Actually smokes wants Rondon to close. Well he wants one guy. Which is weird. I don't think he ever wanted one guy to play one position. That is why Don Kelly makes the roster. He can play every position. If Verlander didn't have a picture of jimmy getting a lap dance from the 19 yr old girl who sat behind him at the phillies game, he might not be the opening day starter. No other coach could take this team and only clinch the playoffs with two games to spare. But coke will get just enough (aka vs the twins and yankees) that no one will get 50%.

Rondon optioned to Toledo. As per rotoworld.
Bruce Rondon - R - Tigers
NEWS: Tigers optioned RHP Bruce Rondon to Triple-A Toledo.
ANALYSIS: Rondon was given every opportunity to claim the Tigers' ninth-inning job this spring, but he wound up allowing 17 hits and nine walks in 12 1/3 Grapefruit League frames. The hard-throwing 22-year-old should climb his way to Detroit at some point in 2013. Detroit will employ a closer-by-committee in the early going. Joaquin Benoit is probably the guy to own in fantasy leagues.
