What to make of Carlos Pena being back at cleanup?

Postby papasmurf » Mon May 31, 2010 7:35 pm

He still isn't hitting much better than when he got dropped down. Why is he back up?

Did he complain about being disrespected or something? Doesn't seem like something Pena would do. Seems to be a team player.

So should I read into this that the manager that's he's fixed whatever he needed to with his swing?

Maybe he had success against the starting pitcher they were facing?

I wouldn't. Maddon likes to experiment with different lineup combinations.

That being said, Carlos Pena is what he is. A .230 hitter that does a lot of damage when he doesn't strike out/doesn't hit directly into the shift.
