Whats wrong with Papelbon???

Postby MiracleMan » Tue May 18, 2010 9:55 am

I'm in a 15 team points league and last night's debacle cost me 12 points. Is he hiding an injury?? His K rate has been falling...He doesn't seem as dominate as he use to be. Is it time to trade him away? What do you think his season looks like from here on out?

You could say the same with Mariano. Closers have ups and downs. That's just the way it goes.

Being from the Boston area, I can tell you that this is not the same Papelbon from a couple years ago, but he's still good. He's relying far too heavily on his fastball which isn't nearly as awesome as it used to be (16 out of 18 pitchers were FBs in the horrible BS in NY). Expect his ERA to come down into the mid 2s or low 2s if you're lucky but the days of 1.anything ERA Pap are probably gone.
