I've got Heyward performing and gaining trade value, while Grandy is languishing on my bench.

Once he comes off, there's only going to be a utility slot for one of them (Holliday/Ichiro/J-Upton in the OF).

So the question is: Who would you rather sell for a top-tier closer? Heyward has been great and could probably fetch just as much as a healthy Granderson if he keeps hitting and stealing through May.

ESPN 10 team H2H each category. Before you say anything about it, I know I don't have any SP. This strategy has brought me to the championship game 4 of the last 5 years.

How about just Heyward V Grandy in general, aside from trade value?

You think Heyward is going to be more of a commodity at year-end?

I think Granderson is still good for 15-18HR/SB each from June to October... The scary part is that Heyward appears eager to steal, which makes him a beast.

I think Granderson was overrated at the beginning of the season because of the Yankees lineup and ballpark. He is only decent from one side of the plate which makes him a drag on average.

I agree 100%, but he posts 25/25 every year. There aren't many of those guys out there...

I guess if Heyward manages to hit 25HR and post .270, he will have like 90RBI, more than Grandy and with a higher AVG. Losing on steals, though.

I feel liek at the end of the day they will be similar in overall value, though Grandy's production is proven while Heyward's is not.

I still think Granderson can put up solid numbers when he gets back, but he might start off slow due to all the time he's been out...

Heyward is the real deal, and he's constantly getting better. Here's a stat line that illustrates this fact perfectly:

April - 26 K's and 13 BB's in 75 AB's.
May - 1 K and 9 BB's in 30 AB's.

..............

Heyward had a two week stretch in April that was absolutely terrible. Pitchers started testing him, and he failed miserably. He was striking out 2-3 times EVERY game. And then he learned, adjusted, and has defeated it.
He's also stolen 3 bases in the past few days, and he actually has stolen 4; he was called out on one attempt even though he was VERY clearly safe after all the replays.

I can see Heyward legitimately hitting 25-30 HR's this year, stealing 15+ bases, and hitting over .275, and that's as a rock bottom projection. Granderson probably won't compare to those overall numbers this year, let alone the numbers Heyward could potentially put up.

I'm a homer Braves fan, but Heyward is legit. I was really frustrated with him in April when he was swinging at everything, but it's amazing how much better he is now compared to a month ago.

Yeah, his SB value seems huge. I saw him beat out a double play ball he hit over to third, they weren't even close to getting him out. He's quicker than I thought...

I bet I could fetch like R. Soriano for Granderson and stick Heyward in the Util slot. Plus I need RBI and he's certainly a better bet in that category.

Thanks to all for the input!
