Rank these Pitchers

Postby LincolnT » Thu May 13, 2010 7:31 pm

I want to pick up a new pitcher, maybe two. What would be your top three or four picks from this group of FA going forward?

Clippard
Pelfrey
Vargas
Cueto
Kennedy
Olsen
Scherzer
Dice-K
Harang

Kennedy

Harang

Cueto

are the three I'd buy in that order

cueto is the best bet even though he sucked until this week.

Vargas has great "fantasy potential numbers according to espn"

Herrang has been a bust for yrs and needs to get away from that sandlot in cincy.

Kennedy is very interesting and has excellent numbers and potential but remember he's been injured for 2 years.

So in summary....
Cueto
Vargas
Kennedy

also look for gordzalany, fister, and Brett myers(decent stats)

olsen can't be for real 4 yrs later?? Can he??

And check out gordzalany, gio gonzolez, and Sean markum if available.

I think I had narrowed it down to Cueto or Kennedy, but Vargas seems to have potential and I wondered what others thought of him also. Gorzelanny is available, but I've already got Wells, and not sure I trust either. Marcum and Gio are gone. I agree on Harang, he needs to get away from Dusty the one man (pitcher) wrecking crew. Thats part of my hesitation with Cueto. Seems like Cueto and Kenneday are pretty equal, depending on matchups.
