Back in Philly he looked like he had really good stuff but they didn't bring him along right at all. I wasn't surprised to see how well he was pitching in Chicago earlier this year. Eventually I picked him up and I've been fairly happy with the results up until recently. You guys think he's still worth holding onto? Starting pitching is thin on FA, guys I'd consider dropping him for would be Mark Buehrle, Gil Meche, or Paul Maholm (I have a strange feeling the Pirates are going to finish the season strong for "what the fuck do we have to lose" purposes). Or the new kid they got from NY if his start today was for real.

Karstens? Eh. Maholm's looked solid, but eh. I don't hold the same feelings as you when it comes to Pirates turning things around. I mean, they might be slightly better, but eh. Gil Meche isn't a bad name to look at. Finally, I don't trust Floyd.

Of the three I'd go for Meche. He might not get you many wins, but all of his other #s should be better than Floyd's from here on out. Unless Floyd continues getting lucky. Or all these fancy new stats are worthless.
