Slim Pickin's

Postby BSUjam » Tue Jun 10, 2008 2:27 pm

I am in a 16 team non-keeper league, and we have some slim choices at SP (and I need one). I have Hamels, Beckett, Santana, and Verlander (plus a host of relievers). I feel as if I am running behind everyone else in SP's, as they have 5-8 going! So, here is a list of ones available that have "potential." Should I pick up one of these suckaz, or should I try to compete with my 4 plus relievers? Opinions?

Luke Hochevar
Carlos Silva
Kyle Kendrick
Mike Pelfrey
Jason Marquis
Claudio Vargas
Boof Bonser

Thanks!

Which is going to give you more bang for your buck? I recently have been throwing less starting pitchers and one extra closer because wins and saves are of equal value. Still winning over other guys who grab pitchers just for two starts. Many times I have been playing with three less pitch starts, yet the other team usually has a few risks who wet the bed. It is especially nice when you're close at the end of the week and you have more opportunities for saves and the other guy has no more pitch starts.

What do you mean shinjo? It is a question of strategy and players!
