Too early to panic?

Postby zenda525 » Wed Apr 21, 2010 8:02 am

My team has been getting killed in most offensive categories. I know it's still early, but again seeing nelson cruz and andrus (both who I'm facing) steal 3 bases a piece might've put me over the top. My orioles are killing me, same with my white sox, alcides I don't believe has any steals, ellsbury is on the DL, my bottom 2 SP are pitching better than my top 2. Any suggestions to improve are appreciated. Is it time for a drastic move or just hang tight?

Why not move some pitching for someone like Choo, Furcal or hope to buy low on someone like Mark Reynolds?

You can panic all you won, as long as it’s the chew your fingernails off kind of panic and not the drop your entire roster kind.

My offense is hitting .235 with a .290 OBP. I started the year with Roberts, Chipper, Napoli, Pence, Mclouth… pretty rough early going. But I much prefer this crap happen now than late in the year.

You should be looking at the glass half full too. Maybe the slow start means you gotta do more homework to catch up later on, but it's not the end of the world.

Rule of thumb...

These apply to anyone you picked in the first 12 rounds that are not in timeshares.
- (hitters) If you're asking this question in April, the answer is yes, it's too early to panic.
- (starting pitchers) If you're asking this question before they've made 5 starts, the answer is yes, it's too early to panic.
- (closers) You shouldn't have one in the first 12 rounds that doesn't have their job cemented.

Your team looks solid, several of your guys have been terrible thus far. Only place to go is up...

I like the move for you. Hopefully this helps quell the panic. It's still April so be patient.

2 RBI double for the Blank Man. The Pods are hot. He's not making my decision any easier... I think I may hold him and see if he's going to heat up.
