I'm in an 8 team keeper. 6x6 with OPS and K/BB. Team is in sig.

I have the #1 waiver. Someone dropped Adam Dunn. I already have Reynolds, but I'm planning to use my waiver on him and drop Garrett Jones, but then I'd lose out on Ike Davis (or any other rookie call-ups as people in my league love rookies). Thoughts?

Jose Guillen is a free agent right now, but I'm not sure who to drop for him. I'm thinking one of my pitchers, maybe Burnett?

Someone offered me his Uggla, Markakis, and Hughes for my Crawford. I'm not really a fan of it, as Uggla would kill my avg (with Reynolds and Dunn), I don't really see Markakis as a power threat, and I would just drop Hughes. Also, I feel like I don't have 2 people I could drop to make this trade go through. Should I try for his Zimmerman or Cano instead?

Yes on Dunn.

Big no on that Crawford deal. In an 8 team league you want to be pulling of 3-for-1 and 2-for-1 deals where you are getting the 1 because there is likely to be a lot more good options in the FA pool.

I can't even accurately evaluate what goes on in an 8 team league BUT I do know you never want to be pulling 3 for 1's when the WW is chock full of talent.

However, go get all over Dunn. He's an OPS monster!

never save your waiver for a savior, they rarely come and you miss out on player after player in the meantime

Yeah, don't dilute your team - you want to be on the other end of a 3-for-1. I'd also use the waiver on Dunn. You'll probably be back to the top of the waiver priority mountain in no time in an 8-teamer.

Too many times people hold those waiver claims tight but more often then not they end up missing out on most of the good talent because they cannot decide which person is worth the claim. I say use it now!
