Which closer to grab?

Postby CarlWeathers » Tue Apr 20, 2010 11:16 am

I have an open RP slot due to a trade. Lindstrom was just picked up by someone unfortunately. Now the best guys left seem to be Rodney (due to lose job), Frasor, Perez, Kerry Wood, Morales and Jim Johnson. Can I get opinions on who to grab?

Rodney is the man right now. By the time he loses the role, lots of other things could have been changed. Take the sure thing and vulture after that

I would also go with Rodney for now. Once Fuentes returns I would probably go with Perez.

I'm a big fan of rostering a couple of good MR's on every team and if Rodney does step aside, he'll still be worth owning IMO. But if saves are the issue, what I might do is see if there is someone else I could drop so I could pick up both Perez and Wood and see what shakes out.

I think Rodney, JJ, and Wood are all close in my opinion. Rodney is on a shorter interim basis, JJ has no competition until MGon returns (whenever that may be), and Wood has to comeback, shake the rust off, and establish a dominant position over Perez.

Somehow in all of that I think I just convinced myself that JJ is actually the better of the bad options.
