I like Wright quite a bit this year. Remember he was a first rounder last season.

Thank being said, if you are looking to deal him away I would need Cano and Billingsley back. None of those other options appeal to me.

I'd rather have Wright than Cano and any of these pitchers.

im just worried about wrights RBI and HR opportunities.. He's been terrible in his career with runners in scoring position and ive watched a lot of mets games this year and it seems to hit a HR at citi field he upper cut swings with all his might (and usually misses from what ive seen).

So I guess slash stats of .309/.380/.447 last year with RISP is horrible? Oh wait you said career... .301/.394/.489 is even better.

Never trust the eyes in baseball - always trust the stats.

i guess its over reaction to two of my roommates who are huge mets fans and they say he never has a clutch hit with runners on scoring position and is the Mets A-rod so i guess i misconstrued what they meant. Thanks for the stats though it brings me some comfort.

It's easy, especially in the NY media monster, to falsely garner a reputation of not being a "clutch" hitter. These guys want a hit everytime you're at the plate.

Even ARod has been great over his career with RISP. He jsut had off years in '09 and '08 by HIS standards at .265 and .270. Career wise he's at .301/.405/.546

This deal reeks of your roommates trying to pull a fast one on you by convincing you that Wright isn't as good as he is. Chances are you spent at least a 2nd round pick on him, and now you think its good value to trade him for guys who were at best 4th and 9th rounders? And especially not for the specious reasoning of struggles with RISP, because Cano actually has had problems with that, but hasn't and won't with Reyes ahead and Bay behind.

haha could be or hes just a negative mets fan which i guess is understandable after what they have to dealt with.. but watching the game last night with him wright gets up with bases loaded and strikes out to end the inning :(

if you want to trade your best hitter over a single plate appearance watched with a jaded met fan, who's still trying to acquire him, go right ahead.

Unlike your roommate though, the people here have nothing to gain by this trade.
