I saw Duchscherer is slated to start on Wednesday at home against the Mariners...how do people feel about him?

I don't have a place to stash him but am worried he lights up the M's and someone will snatch him before my number comes up on the wire...any projections for Wednesday/month/season....

I watched the last Spring Training Game he pitched. Looked really, really good and was pitching against legit dudes. You should definitely drop Carmona for a different pitcher. There are a few dudes I like more than Duchscherer that aren't very highly owned right now: Chris Young, Clayton Richard, Matt Latos, Ian Kennedy, etc.

Thanks, Beane...Latos is already on another team but I have been watching Kennedy and Richard, Young makes me nervous and not that Carmona doesn't but for some reason I see big things for him this season. Might have to jump on Duchscher sooner than later.

Do you think Duchscherer will be better than Gio/Anderson?I personally think Anderson will be a bust but I wonder also if Duchscherer can stay off the DL/prozac.

Yeah, I'm not tripping over myself to get Duchscherer but he could have a decent season. I don't like Anderson where he's been drafted. None of the Oakland pitchers are that appealing to me this season. Gio Gonzalez has some deep Sleeper upside but I think I'd rather go after NL, high K dudes. Carmona is a poor man's Derek Lowe. There are no strikeouts there so you're basically hoping for him not walk people and win games. The offense behind him just isn't that potent. What I like more about dudes like Richard and Young is that they'll K dudes, favorable ballpark, National League. Don't totally forget about Chris Young; reports are he's totally healthy.

I've got the same feeling, I want to bolster my staff a little, but I'm torn on who to drop from my bench. I'm thinkin Freese. But besides Duchscherer there is also Penny & Harang available on my wire right now, any advice?

Penny has no K potential and I try to stay away from Harang--I would def take Duchscherer and his K upside over those guys. The previous commenter got me looking into Richard/Young--I like their upside over Harang and co. as well...
