Ranking Pitchers

Postby Bichette Happens » Sun Apr 04, 2010 2:54 pm

People have been giving me grief over the last few days for my Carmona acquisition. Spending some time over the weekend trying to sort out, what I think, are the most capable pitchers left on my league's waiver wire, I have assembled the below ranking. The basis for the ranking is not Ks, CGs, WHIP etc.--it is simply the order in which I would select pitchers off the wire, irregardless of who/where they are playing, but who I think will have the most points at the end of the season as per my H2H points league.

My question is: I'm curious as to how other people would rank the following pitchers based solely on who will accumulate the most fantasy points this season. How off am I?

Duchscherer, Wade Davis, Carmona, Ian Kennedy, Cueto, Chris Young, Clayton Richard, Strasburg, Gio Gonzalez, Homer Bailey, Chapman, Marcum
12 Team H2H Points

C - Santana
1B - Teixeira
2B - SeanRod
3B - Wright
SS - Alexei Ramirez
OF - Werth, Dunn, Quentin
UTIL - Bay
Bench - Gaby Sanchez

SP - J. Santana
SP - Nolasco
SP - Felix
SP - Dempster
SP - Greinke
SP - Jamie Garcia
SP - Bumgarner
SP - Wandy
DL - Bedard
RP - Marmol
RP - Franklin

Interesting...I'm surprised to see Cueto in the 3 spot but even more surprised to see Marcum ahead of Young, Gonzo and Bailey. The BJs are just painful to follow--to have a guy who missed all of last season starting on opening day is a recipe for disaster. As a team, they have about as much appeal as school bus fire. I do think Bailey is going to be a bust, yet again.
