I am not sure how to convey what I am looking for without sounding like an idiot, but here goes anyway:
I play in a H2H league and almost on a daily basis while discussing life/fantasybaseball/religion/politics etc, myself and or other managers refer to a player or players as "streaky", and therefore we perceive them to be not as valuable in our H2H league.
Generally, it seems that we have a tendancy to label a player with the "streaky" stamp if he/she: has a high strikeout total, or has dramatically different home/away splits.
And while these two statistical categories might be great indicators for uneven performance, I am curious if there is a dedicated site/stat that somehow measures a players consistency and makes it somehow comparable to other players?
There's a FLAKE stat for pitchers, but it's more unevenness than streakiness. Studies have been done on how to measure streakiness and if it even exists. Nothing conclusive. Some people says it's just like a coin flip. Sometimes you get 7 in a row of heads, but that doesn't mean the 8th with be another heads.
