Is anyone buying his turnaround?

In the past two weeks, he has a BABIP of .081, mostly attributable to a miniscule 2.6% LD rate. He's been giving up more fly balls, but none have left the yard. While he's brought down his BB/9 (career 3.25, last 14 days 1.69), he walked 4.32 per 9 when in AAA, which makes me think he isn't suddenly going get all Maddux up in here.

Has anyone heard or read anything that would justify such a radical change? I've seen people dropping other pitchers I have more faith in (Randy Wells, Pettitte, Volstad, Zimmermann, eg) and I wonder if I'm missing the boat here.

Picked him up when Peavy went on the DL. He was the best available… it was him or Wakefield. Wakefield’s the safer pick but what the hey. I’ll give him one start…

Anyway, losing Peavy sucks... just like losing my starting 2b and C... sonnuva b.
