Grey, Draft Strategy Help

Postby shill » Thu Mar 06, 2014 1:23 pm

Grey you have given me some general feedback on this same league before, but I now know my draft position which I didn't know before. Give me some feedback on draft strategy as far as when to go pitching or maybe even when to go for a Kimbrel type guy, just your best advice in general in a league with the following settings and draft position. Thanks!

10 Team H2H, not points, win the most categories in the week you get 1 win
Hitting - R, HR, SB, RBI, OBP, SLG
Pitching - IP, QS, SV, WHIP, K/9, ERA

Snake draft, I am picking #9 in first round, #2 Second round and so on.
Yahoo 10 Team H2H Daily Roster includes 4 SPs, 3 RPs, 3 OFs
Hitting - OBP, SLG, HR, RBI, SB, R
Pitching - QS, IP, SV, ERA, WHIP, K/9
C - Posey
1B - Rizzo
2B - Lawrie
SS - Villar
3B - Beltre
OF - J Upton
OF - Braun
OF - Kemp
UTI - Belt
BN - Fowler
SP - Kershaw, DeGrom, V Velasquez, S Gray, Aaron Sanchez, Roark, R Hill
RP - Papelbon, Ramos, Rosenthal

I'd check picks against this:

http://razzball.com/playerrater-preseas ... b12-6X6OBP for hitting and the QS one for pitching... I'd draft pitching higher in this league than a normal due to your categories... You could punt IP & QS but you'd need to be perfect, I'd go starters...

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

I got what you're saying on pitching. In this same league last year, I bumped my first SP pick up to the 3rd round. Didn't work out cause Verlander decided to suck, but I am on board with that. The link you gave me does make me a little unsure though, the 6X6 OBP ranks. there is just such a big difference from the top 400. Guys like Puig who is #19 in the top 400 is #5 on here and then Bryce Harper is #10 on the top 400 drops to #25 on this list. Lots of hitters with big differences in ranks.
