Yep, I understand that and agree, people should come on here if they want help from others. I'm curious - again I'm new so don't know the history - has there ever been encouragement to come on here? Did the site start with columns and then the forum was added?
Forums were built after the site was already going... I tell people to come here and talk but can't force 'em...
Do people mainly ask questions to get a response from you, or from anyone else?
I happily cede to others to answer, but a lot of times even if the question was answered just as I would people ask for my opinion...
I'm just wondering about the level of community here, where people could actively help each other out. Perhaps that's not the case for the majority, but curious on whether you'd prefer more people using the forums and less people asking those questions in the columns. Wouldn't you want a more focused discussion on the column topic?
I honestly don't mind if people ask questions in the comments section of the blog posts, doesn't bother me either way... But I welcome others helping others...
I'm impressed with the coverage on here and lately find myself coming on here daily. I just thought I'd add my two cents on how the column discussions could be better (more focused) and perhaps encourage more involvement on here.
