Draft Strategy?

Postby shill » Mon Feb 10, 2014 8:02 am

I always use Grey's rankings when it comes to fantasy baseball drafts, thats a given! I do have a question about drafting strategy in my Yahoo league. I will give you scoring categories and league settings. My question is how early to pull the trigger for pitching, SP or RP? Last year I finished the regular season in 1st but lost first round of the playoffs, and I took pitching earlier than I ever had, SPs in the 2nd and 6th rounds. I don't like pitching that early as most of you don't, but what fits this league best?

10 team H2H, not points, just win the most categories for the week
Hitting - R, HR, RBI, SB, OBP, SLG
Pitching - IP, SV, ERA, WHIP, K/9, QS
Yahoo 10 Team H2H Daily Roster includes 4 SPs, 3 RPs, 3 OFs
Hitting - OBP, SLG, HR, RBI, SB, R
Pitching - QS, IP, SV, ERA, WHIP, K/9
C - Posey
1B - Rizzo
2B - Lawrie
SS - Villar
3B - Beltre
OF - J Upton
OF - Braun
OF - Kemp
UTI - Belt
BN - Fowler
SP - Kershaw, DeGrom, V Velasquez, S Gray, Aaron Sanchez, Roark, R Hill
RP - Papelbon, Ramos, Rosenthal

You don't need high end starting pitching there either... I would make sure I had some decent middle relievers though...

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.
