Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas has been mired in a season-long slump, with a .187 average and just four home runs over his first 43 games. But his failures have been a bit of a mystery, as Moustakas is sporting a career-high walk rate and career-low strikeout rate.
Bringing in George Brett as the team's hitting coach could help cure Moustakas' woes -- and should change direction from the previous regime's interesting thoughts on hitting home runs at home. With a .192 BABIP and coming off a 20-homer season, Moustakas may just need someone like Brett to give him some tweaks on his approach, and he could be back on track to have the breakout that many of us predicted for him.
Offering a low-level trade to grab Moustakas now would be a wise move for a Fantasy owner/Razzball guru* who sees the peripherals and feels a simple change in philosophy could be the impetus for a turnaround in June.
