If time of arrival or need for starting pitching was not a problem for my team, which player would you rather have Robert Stephenson or Carlos Rodon?

Stephenson and by a decent margin IMO.

Could i ask for a reason? The way i see it is that Robert was never an option to be a 1st overall pick, and Rodon, has a plus, plus fastball and a plus slider, and Rodon has the potential to be a 1st overall pick in 2014. Let me know what you think.

Stephenson has a better fastball at least right now and you build all your pitches around that.

Also have you seen Rodon's NC State picture? HAHA I wouldn't make him the face of my franchise.

Yeah, i agree with the fastball argument, i just think there is a reason Rodon will be a 1st overall selection and Stephenson was not, also does being in that Cincy park not devalue him a little bit? Odds are Rodon could get taken by the Marlins and that is a great pitchers park. And yeah, that picture is weird but he does have a purty mouth

I wouldn't give a big park factor. I mean Cincy has a better offense so he will get more run support too. But one part I might factor is MIA is more likely to fast track Rodon to the big leagues while Cincy already has a log jam. Stephenson might be traded somewhere else or jsut take a while to move up.

Still can't wrap my head around this yet, most of the people i have asked, all have said Stephenson, and i just can't dig it, i feel like Rodon is a David Price type pitcher or at least that type of potential while Stephenson will be a solid #2. Ohh fantasy baseball you trouble me.

This one?: http://www.gopack.com/sports/m-basebl/m ... 73609.html

Is he a suspected flat-billed pitchypuss?

Alright so after much thinking, i went with Rodon, hopefully it pans out, the way i see it SP's with #2 potential are out there to be had, pitchers with ACE #1 potential not so much.
