Everything I've read over the last week or two is "sell Cain if you can", or something like that. Do you agree? I know you were pretty high on him entering 2009. His Ks are slightly down, his BBs are slightly up and he's benefiting from a low BABIP and a high strand rate. Is he just a little wild? Or is it because he's lost a tick on his FB? It seems to me that Cain could improve his K/BB (his last start was encouraging) and come out just fine in the end.

I haven't shopped Cain actively, but one team has offered me Soto straight up for him. I've currently got Baker at catcher after I lost Iannetta to the DL (10 team, 5x5, h2h league) and Napoli was recently dropped. Do you think Soto will come around? Giving up Cain for Soto seems like overpaying at this point.

As a side:
Kelvim Escobar - He's currently DL'd on my team and could replace Cain's production if I trade him. Think he'll be back in 2 weeks or so (barring yet another set back)? He threw 60 pitches the other day in a minor league game.

I wouldn't trust Escobar to give you anything. He might but don't count on it. Cain for Soto is overpaying. You can do better for Cain.

Soto is 30-40 lbs overweight. He is not with the same "trainer" anymore and is apparently on the Jose Contreras rice and beans diet. i guess what I'm saying is I agree with Grey. Shoot for better. He came from nowhere and then just blew up in Iowa and the show for 2 years. Maybe we are seeing the real Soto.

Thanks for the advice. I'm definitely not letting go of Cain for Soto straight up.

(and as a Brew Crew fan, I get a little pleasure hearing that perhaps Soto isn't as good as he showed last year)
