Ok, so it's been two weeks of the season. I know, it's very very early. But 4 runs, 1 rbi, 1 sb, 0 hrs? Avg and obp are nothing special. Is this the dreaded sophomore slump? Did he put on too much muscle in the offseason? What's going on?

In my keeper league I was offered McCutchen for Trout today. I scoffed at the trade offer but now, geez. What's going on??

2012:
BABIP - .383
HR/FB - 21.6%

2012 MLB Average:
BABIP - .297
HR/FB - 11.3%

2013
BABIP - .333
HR/FB - NA

It is early but obviously regression was coming for Trout in 2012, how much regression was the question. He is going to be very good, but I would certainly take McCutchen for him.

I had trout behind cabrera, Braun, the 3 1baggers, and tied with mccutchen in my rankings. Kemp to follow that

I would not scoff at a McClutchen for Trout trade.

In a keeper league you'd really do a Trout for McCutchen trade straight up? Here's the thing. I drafted Trout #1. If I wanted McCutchen I would have drafted him over Trout. So, I clearly value Trout more. So why would I trade him straight up for someone I valued less than him just two weeks ago. I told the guy if he wanted to swap he'd have to include something else or we could swap other players and he'd have to make up the difference there.

That is fair. I didn't say I would do that trade for sure, just wouldn't scoff at it. I understand that you need to look at things differently in a keeper league, but McCutchen is only 26 years old himself and getting better.
