Good morning guys. 12 team H2H Points League.

I draft first and in the points league, I'm taking Miguel Cabrera. By chance, this is the first time I've drafted this high and in the turn-around spot for rounds 2 and 3. I like getting my bats early and probably still will with the first three picks this year.

Any advice on drafting from this position?

Pitchers in our league earn alot of points but I've made great picks in past seasons finding the ace in the 15 to 25 range like last season with Cain and Bumgarner. Last season, 10 of the first 20 picks or so were starters. I don't know if that trend will continue but when I ranked out only hitters below, I had third basemen that I don't necessarily need. I also have several middle infield and higher risk guys that I expect to come back if the pitching trend continues.

My thoughts and hope was to grab one of the three middle infielders in Tulo, Pedroia or Reyes if they slip or maybe both if available. I also was looking for another power bat that can go nuts in points leagues. I'd hate to take on alot of risk at that stage but it may be worth it of the Colorado boys drop because of past health issues. Guys I could see dropping with my knowledge of other owners are Hamilton, Stanton and Cargo for health and performance risk so is it better to have one of them or an Encarnacion type.

First post of the year so I apologize if it's to much for one such message. CHEERS!!!!!

Hey guys, if you see my rankings out of wack for H2H points and think my risk aversion is unfounded in such leagues let me know who and where. Thanks.

I think looking for your SS/2B with Tulo and Pedroia would be a good move. I wouldn't have a problem taking Longoria here though either. I think all three have the ability to be top 15 players.

I would already have Cabrera. Would taking Longoria and burying myself at DH be the smart move?

Sorry wasn't thinking about that but more about the players that I have been seeing drafted at the turn. Hopefully the MI pair comes your way or start looking towards the OF if they don't.
