Long time reader, second time poster.

I'm a stat geek like Rudy, so I dig the fact that you guys came up with your own Player Rater to help objectively rate players. That being said, I feel like every preseason all the projections come out from the different sites which offer their own rankings, but does anyone plug the projections into player rater software to determine who would actually be worth what if everything played out that way?

Do you guys do that? If not, any quick way that you could?

Hi STRF (big fan of Sanford and Son?) -
For the rankings (http://razzball.com/fantasy-baseball-ra ... view-2012/) and projections (http://razzball.com/fantasy-baseball-pr ... view-2012/) tests, I convert all the rankings/projections through my Player Rater to get $ values. I then use those $ figures for each source to create post-draft values for all the Razzball Commenter League teams and do a correlation on the sources' $ valuation of each team and their final standings points.

I've been happy to see this offseason an increase in the number of 'tests' for rankings/projections (RotoValue, FantasyPros, FanGraphs are some I recall off the top of my head) but I think my methodology trumps them all for fantasy baseball. As I

For rankings, it's cruder. I just give the 1st ranking around $40 and then match their ranking with the $ value for that ranking in my $ values to credit down to $0. For the projections, I determine their $ value based on what my end-of-season $ calculation formula (same used in Player Rater).

I'm commish of an ESPN league this year, main difference with the roster being that we have 4 OF instead of 5. It is the first time that I am doing a keeper league, and I have structured it so that you lose a draft pick in the round that you picked them. I can give more detail if necessary, but the question is how do you suggest that I weight your Point Shares for usage in that league?

Btw, it really is crazy how the rankings in ESPN correlate with people's draft picks. Always knew it and then saw your post that proved it.

Going from 5 to 4 OFs makes OF a lot deeper and would decrease the average value of OFs. It would have a few smaller effects on other positions but it's hard to quantify - the main driver being that 12 hitters vs. 13 means that each hitter's stats have a greater impact. This increases general hitter value.

I think the easiest thing to do is reduce the hitter value by, say, $2 and all the other hitters increased by $1.
