This essentially happens every year. A solid prospect you can take in the later rounds suddenly gets a good shot at the starting rotation and becomes overvalued. I'm curious if this will be the case with Shelby Miller, too.

With Carpenter basically out for the 2013 season, Miller has every chance to make the rotation out of spring training. How much do you think that increases his value in most drafts? Does he suddenly become the first prospect off the board?

I think it helps his value but I am not sure that it will make him jump much higher than he was already. I would still take Bundy before him. But I am usually a bit cautious grabbing rookie SP.

I'm essentially concerned from a keeper league standpoint, in which draft picks are lost for keeping players. Taking Miller in the 21st round, or higher, is great value for years to come. If he drops to the 15th round, I wont have anything to do with him. Even in a keeper league, that's just too high for a rookie pitcher.

I do agree, however, Bundy is the better of the two.
