I run a 10 team league and was looking for a unique way to determine draft order next year. This year I used the same random draft generator (over at fftoolbox) and it didn't seem quite random. The 1st pick was same as last year and picks 2 and 3 just swapped. The rest of it is a little more randomized. So I'm not too thrilled with the way it turned out. I'm not going to change this year but was looking to do something different next year.
I found a site that can generate draft order in a lottery and was hoping to come up with the best way to assign the "ping pong balls". I don't want to do straight inverse order of standings because the person in last place in my league is usually the guy that quit the earliest. Quitters ruin the competition of the league in my opinion. Ideally there'd be some kind of equation that combines inverse order of standings with rewards and penalties for transactions and setting or not setting lineups.
I'd like to hear how other leagues determine it.

Seems like a whole lot of work to switch ten numbers around... There's random number generators on the Internet... Or go alphabetical by first name this year, last name next year, favorite team standings... Gotta be a dozen ways to do it...

In our league, we take turns selecting the draft order by reversed final standings. The last place team will start by selecting a position in the draft (1-12) and the process will continue until last year's champion is left with the remaining spot.

We are a keeper league, so positioning is actually pretty important. The middle slots get snatched up quickly. I always gun for #12. Last year #1 and #11 were the last ones left. Go figure.
